Yulin Wang, BSc in Mechanical Engineering and MSc in Robotics, is a Senior Technology Analyst at IDTechEx. Since joining in 2021, he has led IDTechEx's research in data centers and cloud infrastructure, robotics, thermal management, and select areas within semiconductors and electric vehicles.
Eductation
Yulin Wang earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with First Class Honours from the University of Edinburgh, followed by an MSc in Robotics with Distinction from Imperial College London. His academic research focused on computer vision, robotic arm control, wearable technologies, and soft robotics. He was the lead author of a publication presented at the 2021 IEEE 17th International Conference on Wearable and Implantable Body Sensor Networks (BSN).

Evaluating the value chain of data center cooling and identifying market trends, product entry opportunities, and integration of new technology innovations:
An engineering conglomerate sought to understand market opportunities in data center and cloud infrastructure cooling. This included investigating hardware and software technologies, potential market entry strategies, and market sizing projections. In this consultancy project, Yulin identified emerging technologies for next-generation AI data centers and outlined strategic opportunities for the client in terms of product market entry, investment, and collaboration. This was achieved through direct engagement with industry experts and comprehensive research using industry and financial reports from leading players.
