While silver nanowires are now well established as a viable alternative to ITO for transparent conductive applications , they also have emerging potential in other printed electronics applications. They have functionality in plasmonic and photonic devices such as thin-film solar cells, surface Plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensors, and optical waveguides. Silver nanowires can be also be used in stretchable conductive films for conformal electronics, in electrochemical transducers for contaminant detection and diagnostics, and in films for the dissipation of heat and static electricity. This presentation will describe the use and potential of silver nanowires in these applications.
