The majority of large cities around the globe are using electric traction for their main means for public transport, such as metros or light rail systems. The advantage of these systems is the enormous transport capacity and at the same time avoiding local air pollution. The disadvantage of these systems is the inflexibility with respect to potential route changes. These systems are carefully designed exactly for the local requirements as "project business".
Speaker Biography (Manfred Schmidt)
