OLED displays have become the dominant technology for small form factor application such as mobile, watch and VR. However limitations in the incumbent cathode materials had made it difficult to manufacture larger form factor high-res OLED displays, and have caused a number of challenges such as high power consumption and off-angle color shift. Novel cathode materials with better device performance, higher conductivity and improved transmission will be able to unlock new markets for OLED displays. This will allow OLED displays to break into new markets such as transparent display applications, mid-size applications in IT & automotive, and large-size applications in 8K & new form factor TV.
