Printed Electronics: Expanding Standards to Meet Shrinking Technology
15:30 - 15:55
At the beginning of the decade, IPC—Association Connecting Electronics Industries launched an initiative to bring industry-consensus standards and guidelines to market to address gaps in terms, definitions, specifications. IPC has published standards for base materials and functional materials as well as design and process implementation guidelines. Its members are now in the beginning stages of a performance specification and design standard.
This presentation will cover the types of materials and testing included in the two published base materials standards and how those standards are being revised to be inclusive of additional dielectric and conductive materials.
It will also share information on newly standardized application categories for printed electronics and how those categories will apply to a new activity to produce a performance specification. The presentation will also include the latest information on a design standard in development.
Attendees will take away an understanding of the industry standards available for use by them, their suppliers and their customers. They will also learn how to participate in the industry committees working on those documents.
