Speaker Biography (Akira Sakaigawa)
Dr. Akira Sakaigawa is General Manager of Display System R&D department at Japan Display Inc., where he leads the development of RGBW technology for low power consumption and high image quality mobile display.
He received his Ph.D. degrees in Material Science from Saitama University Graduate School of Science & Engineering in 1994. He has extensive experience in the field of Liquid Crystal Display technology development at Sharp Corporation, Sony Corporation and Japan Display Inc.. One key area over several years has been to investigate the optical design and the image processing algorithm for low power consumption.
