Intexar™ Soft Electronics And Silicone Soft Skin Adhesives Combine To Create A Longer Wearing Health Patch
Santa Clara Convention Center, CA, USA
Grand Ballroom E
09:00 - 09:20
Health patches worn for a few days or weeks for continuous vital sign monitoring are a growing health and medical product group. The current generation of products on the market depend on backing films that cannot stretch to conform to skin movement, acrylic adhesives that damage skin, and hydrogel-based sensors pads that fall off when there is too much moisture present, like showering or from sweat during exercise. This presentation will outline an improved approach based on Intexar™ stretchable ink and film as the conformable backing film and interconnects layer plus silicone soft skin adhesive as the skin contact layer. The available improvements in stretch, breathability, adhesion and skin sensitization will be discussed as well as ease of assembly.
