Clarenbach

A range extender combines the best of both worlds. Microturbine driven generators are ideal range extenders and are already used as small electrical power stations on commercial aircraft. Compared to combustion engines, microturbines are more compact, fuel-type independent, produce less NOx and less particles. CLARENBACH Turbines develops a low-cost 50 kW microturbine range extender. It does not require maintenance for 400.000 driving kilometers and it runs on many fuel types such as diesel, propane, biofuels, methane and hydrogen.

THIRD SKIN

Our first product is Hy. Unlike every other headphone on the market, Hy is designed from scratch to be worn all day, without affecting your natural hearing. To achieve this, we have invented a speaker driver which uses a combination of air-conduction for mid and high frequency sound, and bone-conduction for the low frequency sound usually lost when the ear is not blocked. This allows the user all-day, immediate access to music, calls and information via a voice controlled interface, without compromising their natural hearing.

Helping
launch new business

Why are we doing this? IDTechEx recognize that it can be difficult for very small companies or research organizations to show their big advances in the traditional manner of exhibiting where no budget may be assigned. The IDTechEx Launchpad will give such entities the ability to reach the international audience, and for the community to see the state-of-the-art systems.

Feedback from previous Launchpad winners

"We honestly did not know what to expect from this exhibition, as it was the first in the history of the company. We were quite overwhelmed by the extent of business opportunities and exchange of these." Mr Nils Sveje, Bike2Aps

"The exhibition has been perfectly organized and it has been a very useful showcase for our new-born start-up. The product idea has encountered great interest of the other companies." Dr Francesco Guido, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia
