GNSS opened markets for location-based services but failed indoors and in industrial areas. Likewise, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth failed due to their poor reliability and accuracy. Mission critical applications require accurate positions at highest confidence level. Todays most advanced UWB transceivers deliver pinpoint accuracy but are they ready for mass-markets? Is it easy enough to roll-out RTLS even in complex IT-landscapes?
Luc is a 22 year veteran of the Electronics and semiconductor industry, with experience in senior level management, IC development, hardware design, business unit strategy development, Strategy and Business Development for a range of Semiconductor products including MCU, PoE, Sensors, RF and Analog IC for various markets including Automotive, Networking, Industrial and Consumer. Prior to joining DecaWave, Luc held positions with Siemens Automotive, Motorola and Freescale.
DecaWave is a pioneering Fabless Semiconductor Company which is developing a full family of single chip CMOS products based on the IEEE802.15.4a standard that reach unprecedented performance in location precision and range at very low power and very low cost.
DecaWave has been instrumental in developing the alternate PHY IEEE802.15.4a standard and has successively combined the rich potential of the Ultra Wideband Technology (UWB) with its Intellectual Property (DecaWave owns several essential and non-essential patents) to offer a product family that creates a true disruption in the Real-time Location Systems (RTLS) and Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) markets.
