A reliable, grid-independent, long term power supply is an essential element to boost the success of IoT. Especially in industrial applications batteries for wireless sensors and actuators can lead to negative economic implications unless deductions in performance are accepted. Highly innovative, scalable thermal energy harvesters offer a great potential for cost savings in IoT by ensuring a long term power supply, taking advantage of the fact that small temperature deltas can be found everywhere.
Heiko Rother studied mechanical engineering at the University of Duisburg. Before joining O-Flexx he worked several years in the automotive industry where he was holding various positions from sales to product line management in the areas of body electronics, infotainment, active and passive safety as well as power electronics for (P)HEV and EV. At O-Flexx he owns the position of the Director Sales & Business Development.
