Reflective displays are ideal for wearable devices and mobile phones, due to their lower power consumption and perfect outdoor readability. Unfortunately, current reflective technologies do not deliver on video nor cost. The speaker will introduce a breakthrough reflective technology that offers full motion video on an ultra low power reflective display using existing display fabs to realize affordable pricing.
Frank Christiaens is Chairman and CEO at CLEARink Displays in Santa Clara (USA), Chairman of ELIX Wireless in Vancouver (Canada), Managing Partner at CrossPacific Capital Partners, as well as Director and Chairman of the Compensation Committee at China Digital Video in Beijing (China).
Before moving to Canada in 2010, Mr. Christiaens spent 15 years in Asia, where he co-founded companies in telecommunications, advertising and clean-tech. He served as the President for Greater China for Barco of Belgium from 2001 to 2009. He founded his first startup in Belgium in 1991.
Mr. Christiaens was trained as a Civil Electro-Mechanical Electronics Engineer at the University of Leuven, did his research on Artificial Intelligence at the Imperial College in London, and holds a Master of Business Administration in International Management from the Vlerick School of Business.
