Today's technology allows unprecedented visibility into cold chain temperatures and practices. Businesses of any size who are quality-concerned can use this insight to create a brand platform of freshness and quality, backed up by real-time evidence of conscientious care, for which they can charge a premium. Quantifying freshness gives pricing validity and strength because of consistency of quality and length of shelf life. For restaurants, this insight translates to processes and standards that allow for franchisees. For all, e-retail and delivery businesses can make delivery decisions by freshness budgeted to ensure consistently happy customers. The public is willing to pay a premium for consistency and transparency. To paraphrase a saying borrowed from another industry: If you want to deliver freshness, you'll make some money. And if you want to make some money, you'll deliver freshness.
