The presentation will introduce Porex, and its capabilities to manufacture custom porous plastic platforms for a variety of markets and applications such as consumer, industrial, cosmetics, biomedical, electronics, sensors, energy, automotive, etc. We will highlight specific applications in the cosmetics, automotive, and telecom equipment markets and how we are making the world safer, healthier, and more productive.
Gene is currently the Global OEM Business Development Director for Porex, a Filtration Group company. He is also the co-chair of an industry special interest group called GSAM, Global Summit of Advanced Manufacturing. Gene has made numerous technical presentations and publications in polymeric and nanostructured materials, surfaces and interfaces, wetting, adhesion, self-assembly, new characterization and analysis tools and methods development, and in microelectronic assembly and packaging materials and processes. Prior to Porex, Gene held multiple positions in R&D, product development, sales, and marketing for Alpha, a division of MacDermid Performance Solutions, and prior to Alpha, he was a Senior Staff Engineer for Motorola's Advanced Product Technology Center. Gene received his Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University.
