High quality graphene and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been demonstrated by a new industrial-scale production method, wherein high purity, highly controlled structure and low-cost graphene and CNTs are produced. Inherently the new method produces carbon nanomaterials with high consistency that is critical for reproducible manufacturing of quality products. As an example, a highly stable suspension of graphene in oil is demonstrated and lab data as well as road testing data will be presented showing reduction of coefficient of friction and improved fuel efficiency.
Cattien V. Nguyen is the Founder and CEO of NTherma Corporation. Cattien has almost 20 years of R&D and commercialization of carbon nanomaterials, including CNTs and graphene, at NASA Ames Research Center, IBM Almaden Research Center, and Stanford University. Cattien has published over 80 peer-reviewed scientific papers, 5 book chapters and more than 10 patents (granted/pending).
Cattien obtains a BS in chemistry from Santa Clara University, a PhD in bioinorganic chemistry from UC Santa Cruz, and a post-doctoral fellowship at IBM Almaden Research Center and Stanford University.
