While the additive manufacturing of metals and thermoplastics has already found its way into industrial production, the 3D printing of fluids and pastes is still at the beginning of a professional use. With ViscoTec print heads allows the industry a fast and accurate 3D printing. The direct material application process is similar to filament printing, and works according to the volumetric endless piston principle.
The print head can be used with one or two component materials. These include, for example, silicones, epoxy resins, inks, polyurethanes, acrylates and polyester resins. Due to a material crosslinking at the molecular level, the mechanical strengths in the Z direction can be significantly higher than in filament 3D printing.

Felix Gruber is a member of the business development unit in the ViscoTec. He received a B. Eng. degree, and made his MBA Eng. in industrial engineering with the emphasis of sales & marketing. Since 2017 he is responsible for the business development Additive Manufacturing.
