5G & Low Power Wireless Networks

Vital business intelligence covering technology innovations, infrastructures, implementations and forecast

5G

While the majority are still waiting to link to the 4G network, the top telecoms have started the war for the next generation of mobile communication. 5th-Generation Wireless System (5G) is expected to finally bring the autonomous car, VR and internet of things to reality. Currently, 3GPP is finalising the standard for 5G, and the first commercialised 5G network is expected by 2019. 5G is coming.

5G is a collection of optimised current techniques (both at the physical level and architecture) and new characteristics coming from the change of frequency (mainly two high frequencies, sub-6GHz or 20-40 GHz) and large bandwidth. In this forum, we will look at the new features and advancements of 5G including:

  • Enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB)
  • Massive machine-type connections (mMTC)
  • Ultra-reliable low-latency communications (uRLLC)
  • Overview of 5G spectrum
  • Small cell and base station
  • Massive MIMO
  • Beam management
  • Mmwave
  • Network slicing
  • Edge cloud and edge computing
  • Spectrum sharing
One key to differentiate 5G from the current 4G network is the vertical applications it enables. We will provide comprehensive case/trial studies of 5G for high-end vertical applications including autonomous drive, remote healthcare, home media supply, connected plane and more.

We will also give a full assessment of the 5G market, considering the key application segments and their geographical deployment (e.g. China, US and Europe).

Low Power Wireless Networks

Low power wide area networks (LPWAN) are crucial for Internet of Things (IoT). This forum will focus on NB-IoT, LoRaWan, LTE-M, InGenu and Sigfox. We will compare different LPWAN techniques regarding technologies, costs, players and government support. We will also analyse the four main market segments for LPWAN: smart cities, smart home, asset tracking and agriculture.

Attendees will leave with a clear, quantified view of the markets, technology assessment and development roadmaps, key player profiles and their strategy for market adoption, with lessons from success and failures.

This forum aims to give you a deep understanding of the technology as well as the market potential and current implementation progress of 5G and LPWN. This forum can be attended on its own or in addition to the other sessions, which are complementary in the subject matter. A discount is available for booking multiple sessions.

For those attending.
