FoodMarble have developed the world's first personal digestive tracker. This miniature breath tester enables users to find their optimal diet. How FoodMarble utilises gas sensors to do this will be presented, along with what gas sensing R&D FoodMarble is undertaking to create more novel solutions to pressing digestive health problems.
After graduating with BSc in Physics with Applied Mathematics in University College Cork, Fabien Dubois completed a PhD in integrated photonics based in the Tyndall National Institute. With a background in semiconductor technology and optics Fabien works on integrating cutting edge sensor technologies into FoodMarble's products. He also gets to express his love of food in the recipes and food experiments he writes for the FoodMarble blog.
FoodMarble have developed a first-in-class personal digestive breath tester, which enables the user to measure which foods they are able to digest most effectively. Measuring breath hydrogen, an already validated clinical biomarker, FoodMarble are making this in-hospital test available to all, at home. FoodMarble are initially focusing on sufferers of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), a condition affecting over 1-in-8 worldwide. With the FoodMarble connected app, users can track food, breath hydrogen, symptoms, and stress to help them craft a personalised diet.
