A Holistic Assessment Of The Future Market For Electrified Vehicles
Estrel Convention Center, Berlin, Germany
12:00 - 12:20
The market for electrified vehicles is changing with unprecedented speed. In order to satisfy the urgent need for certainty about the direction future developments are taking, new market forecasts are published on a weekly basis. Since forecasts tend to differ considerably in terms of scope, depth and time horizon, confusion rather than clarity is often the outcome. This work aims to change this by presenting the results of a meta-analysis of over 120 individual forecasts, split by region, vehicle type and time horizon. Taking into account actual vehicle sales enables us also to assess the validity of past predictions and identify any underlying biases. In a final step, key predictions derived from the meta-analysis are contrasted with actual developments gathered from analysing our proprietary electrified vehicle data base, yielding a holistic assessment of what electrified mobility most likely will look like in the years ahead.
