This presentation describes how to use a stereo camera to provide a more natural, intuitive method of interacting with an entry-level system using gesture controls. We investigate the use of gesture recognition algorithms based on 3D Convolutional Neural Network (3D ConvNets) to establish an artificially intelligent data analysis framework for the referenceless analysis of human motion. In addition, the results of the trained networks are compared with known methods such as optical flow and SVM.
