GBatteries is on a mission to enable electric vehicles to charge as fast as it takes to fill up a tank of gas. They are pioneering the only demonstrated technology that enables ultra-fast charging (50% capacity in 5 minutes and ~80-100% capacity in 10 minutes) of Li-ion batteries without reducing cycle life, and without changing the battery chemistry or the manufacturing process. GBatteries is backed by some of the world's top investors and is working with leading automotive manufacturers around the world on commercialization of the technology, which lies at the intersection of AI, electrochemistry, signal processing, and high-power electronics.
Kostya Khomutov is the CEO and Co-Founder of GBatteries - an advanced battery technology company that is revolutionizing the way batteries are charged. Kostya is a seasoned executive with more than 15 years of experience in the global technology sector. Under Kostya's direction, GBatteries is working forwards enabling electric vehicles to charge as fast as it takes to fill up a tank of gas. With the only demonstrated technology that can ultra-fast charge lithium-ion batteries without degrading the battery, GBatteries has demonstrated the charging of off-the-shelf batteries to 50% capacity in 5 minutes and 100% capacity in 10 minutes. Prior to GBatteries, Kostya was the founder of several organizations including Wolna, a SatCom company and Smart Rotor Systems (SRS), an organization that developed vibration and noise reduction technology for helicopters. Kostya has a Master of Applied Science in Aerospace Engineering from Carleton University.
GBatteries is an advanced battery technology company located in Ottawa, Canada's capital. They are on a mission to charge electric vehicles as fast as it takes to fill a tank of gas, with the goal of accelerating the global adoption of electric vehicles by improving charge time. GBatteries has the only demonstrated technology capable of ultra-fast charging lithium-ion batteries (50% in 5 minutes, 100% in ~10 minutes) without compromising battery life or changing the chemistry. Although they are primarily focused on electric vehicles, the technology has applications ranging from smart watches to power tools to drones.
