This talk will present applications of our advanced carbon and carbon-composite materials in supercapacitors, Li-ion capacitors and next-generation LIBs and NIBs. Our technology platform utilizes a renewable, biomass-based precursor that is extracted from agricultural waste and that provides the flexibility to address different applications.
Dr. Mitra is an accomplished materials scientist with over 20 publications in the scientific literature and more than 10 patents/applications to his name. He began his career at the US Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey and has worked at several high-technology companies in Silicon Valley. He founded FaradPower Inc. to develop next-generation carbons and carbon composites for energy storage applications and has developed the platform technology to address a number of different applications. He holds a PhD in materials science from the University of Texas, Austin and a B.Tech. from IIT, India. He currently serves as FaradPower's chief executive officer.
Farad Power Inc. is a technology development company focused on advanced carbon and carbon composite materials ranging from low surface-area hard carbons and carbon-silicon composites for LIB anodes, to pre-lithiated and pre-sodiated carbon-sulfur composites for next-generation LIB and NIB cathodes and high surface-area plain activated carbons for supercapacitors and other surface adsorption applications. We are also developing solid electrolytes for next-generation LIBs and NIBs. Our primary technology platform is patented and utilizes a renewable, biomass-based resource extracted from agricultural waste. We currently operate an R&D facility and are looking for manufacturing partners to take our technology to market.
