IoT connects many devices, improves environment and enhances society satisfaction. IoT network is monitoring, communicating, analyzing and storing data, and controlling and managing the devices. We can see various excellent technologies to constitute IoT. However, who will supply power to the IoT devices? Some large devices have AC power-source and some small devices have a battery. Also, some leading-edge devices have an energy harvester. In this presentation marvelous compact and high-power energy storage components enable to contribute those power supplies into IoT devices will be introduced.
Austin Mori is responsible for business development of supercapacitors and small energy devices (small rechargeable batteries) that are featured as high power and long life. He currently works on promoting them to contribute society satisfaction with dreaming about people living a naturally sustainable life by using equipment with built-in those components.
Austin Mori studied functional materials relating to electromagnetic waves in Department of Environmental Engineering at Osaka University and got a master degree in 2005. He joined Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in 2005, worked for R&D of electrical double layer technologies and supercapacitor products for seven years, promoted the products for three years. He joined Murata Electronics N.A., Inc. in 2016 as a senior business development engineer.
