Increasing Transmission Of Electromagnetic Signals Through Thermal Insulation Glass
Estrel Convention Center, Berlin, Germany
12:20 - 12:40
The usage of thermal insulation glass in modern architecture brought along a reduction of the signal transmissibility and created difficulties for smart phone usage inside a building. We propose a solution using an intelligent surface on removable films. A technology of frequency selective surface (FSS) improves the transmission of the signal at multiple cellular frequencies. The transmission is improving by 15dB allowing mobile communication once the film is simply put on the inside of the window.
Speaker Biography (Do Hanh Ngan Bui)
Do Hanh Ngan BUI received the M.Sc, degree in microwaves from the Grenoble Institute of Technology (INPG), Grenoble, France in 2009 and the Ph.D. degree in radiofrequency from the University Grenoble Alpes, Grenoble, France in 2017. Since then, she has been working as researcher at the IMEP-LAHC laboratory, Grenoble, France. Her research field includes energy harvesting and printed electronics.
Company Profile (IMEP-LAHC)
IMEP- LAHC is a French laboratory of micro- and nano-electronics, microphotonics, micro- and nano-systems, microwaves and microwave-photonics. The research activities cover large areas (materials, technologies, components, circuits and systems) which allow carrying out multidisciplinary research in common with our partners in nanophysics, material chemistry, circuit designers or system manufacturers in electronics and optoelectronics.
SATT Linksium is the technology transfer organization in Grenoble and the Alpes. Financing and accompanying projects in the research laboratories, Linksium targets accelerating deeptech startup creation and technology transfer to industrial partners. 135 projects have been accompanied since 2015 and 28 startups are created so far. 60% of all projects are within the area of engineering sciences.
The project WinApps is developed and accompanied by laboratory IMEP LAHC and SATT Linksium.
