Dr. Farias holds a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a BSE in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University with a research focus on nanomaterials design and processing techniques. Dr. Farias founded NanoDirect LLC, a company focused on scaling and reliability of materials for printable and flexible electronics in 2013. This work includes fundamental materials development as well as sensor and power generating device engineering. NanoDirect partnered with DiPole Materials in 2016 and Dr. Farias has served as DiPole's engineering director since then. He has also served as adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins University since 2016. He has presented at several leading technical conferences on materials and flexible electronics including the Meeting of the Materials Research Society and FLEX. He is an active contributor to the flexible and printable electronics community and has worked on the executive planning committee and as a session chair with the FLEX conference since 2016.
