With significant commitments of funds to electric drive heavy vehicle development in the past year, the need for Zero Emission Goods Transport are being addressed by major drive train providers. The fast developing technologies of E-trucks will be reviewed, with special focus to the opportunities for fuel cell power applications.
Dr. Paul B. Scott, TransPower VP for Advanced Development, has played key roles in the development of a series of hydrogen fueled buses, a fuel cell APU for class 8 trucks, and solar and wind hydrogen generation stations. He now focuses on advanced development programs, including batteries and Zero Emission HD vehicles.
TransPower provides zero-emission transportation solutions for heavy-duty trucks and other large vehicles. TransPower's ElecTruck™ product, an integrated electric drive system that utilizes energy supplied by on-board batteries, was designed with building blocks that allow flexibility to adapt and optimize for many vehicle applications. The firm is teamed with major truck OEMs, including Kalmar, Peterbilt and Meritor, towards the end of production of zero emission trucks which meet market needs.
