Dr. Scott Johnston: Dr. Johnston has been active in the field of Additive Manufacturing (AM) for thirteen years. He currently holds a research position at Boeing in the area of Direct Digital Manufacturing of Boeing Research and Technology located in St. Louis, Missouri. While working at Boeing, he works primarily with Direct Write Electronic technologies. Dr. Johnston has developed a dynamic mathematical model of the thermal fabrication processes for Three Dimensional Printing in metals and is one of the lead scientists in development of a UV masked projection technology to fabricate customized thin films at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Johnston has worked in industry as an actuary, as an engineer in manufacturing at DaimlerChrysler, and as a consulting instrumentation engineer. He holds Masters Degrees in both Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in Additive Manufacturing processes.
