Understanding the behavior of metal powders in AM machines is critical for controlled production of aerospace, medical and other critical components. This presentation will summarize LPW Technology's development efforts to identify powder criteria relevant to controlling batch to batch variation for consistent parts productions. Case studies are included.
John Hunter is General Manager of LPW Technology, Inc. establishing the Americas operation in 2014. Prior to this he was Commercial Director of a powder manufacturer, with a primary focus on Additive Manufacturing. He currently serves on the Board of the Laser Institute of America and is Chairman of the Materials Subcommittee for the SAE Committee on AM for Aerospace.
John has 38 years of experience focusing on new product development, and technology transfer in both domestic and international markets. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from Loyola University of Chicago.
