Speaker Biography (Andreas Brinner)Andreas Brinner, 53, is a Diploma engineer of electrical and mechanical engineering. He is a scientific employee and leader of the hardware development and prototype assembly group of the DLR Institute of Vehicle Concepts. Work History: January 1984 - Start of work at the Institute for Technical Physics of the German Aerospace Research Establishment (DFVLR) in Stuttgart in the Department for Solar Energy Research. 1984-1985 - DFVLR-member of the IEA-SSPS International Test and Evaluation Team in Almeria / Spain at the CRS test facility Calibration of thermal and flow sensor receiver equipment and performance of heat flux measurements with the HERMES 1 system. 1985 - Leader of the project part „Infrared Receiver Measurements" of the ASR High Flux Experiment at SSPS-CRS. 1986 - Change into the Department for Hydrogen Technologies of the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics (ITT). 1986-1990 - Responsible project engineer of the HYOLAR program for the design, assembly and operation of the 10 kW PV- Electrolysis System in Stuttgart. Between 1989 and 1990 participation in design, assembly and test of the heat flux measurement system HERMES 2 in Almeria. 1991-1995 - Leader of the HYSOLAR program part "350 kW PV-Electrolysis Hydrogen Production Facility" in Riyadh / Saudi Arabia. 1996-2002 - Leader of the ITT project group "Electrochemical System Technology". 2002 to present - Change into the Institute of Vehicle Concepts (IFK) and forming of the working group "Hardware Development and Prototype Assembly". Development responsibility for conceptual and packaging design and hardware integration of fuel cells systems for mobile applications. Additional responsibility for the preparation and conversion of electric test vehicles. He has written 67 publications in the areas of solar thermal energy, photovoltaic-operated hydrogen electrolysis, PEFC fuel cell systems and fuel-cell operated vehicles.
