Exovite win at the IDTechEx Show Awards!
Nov 28, 2017
At the IDTechEx Show! in Santa Clara, IDTechEx was delighted to present the 'Best Development in 3D Printing Award USA 2017' to Exovite for their work on 'Technological innovation in tools and medical procedures.'
Accepting the award on behalf of Exovite was CEO, Juan Monzon Fabregat. He commented: "Exovite tries to solve the problems that traditional plasters have on the comfort of the patient, lack of hygiene and a late healing process - we have been 3 years developing a 3D printing method capable of creating customized splints according to the patient's needs. The whole process implies lower medical costs and resources, because of the faster 3D printing method and the rehabilitation system. Thus, we optimize resources in medical procedures and above all, we improve the quality life of both doctors and patients."
The judges felt that customization was a key advantage to 3D printing: "Recently we have seen how 3D printing has revolutionized the dental and hearing aid markets. 3D printing has quickly replaced the existing labor intensive processes with an automated 3D printed device. Exovite's custom cast offers significant advantages to the current cast process. It will be more comfortable wear, offer customization to avoid wound locations and decrease treatment time. With 6 million casts per year alone in the US it's easy to see how this business could quickly exceed 1 billion a year in revenue."
