Thomas Bithell is a Technology Analyst at IDTechEx, currently focusing on sustainability and advanced materials. Before joining IDTechEx in 2024, Thomas graduated from the University of Oxford with an MChem in Chemistry and has taught Chemistry at King's College School Wimbledon. He is based in London, UK.
Thomas graduated from the University of Oxford in 2023 with a first-class master's degree in Chemistry. He spent his final year in a team researching spectroscopic and molecular flow sensing techniques for high-sensitivity breath analysis. As a result of his work in this area, he is a co-author on a publication in the Journal of Applied Physiology. He also achieved a first-class result in a supplementary subject in quantum mechanics.
With IDTechEx, Thomas's research has focused on sustainable technologies and advanced materials. Thomas has completed reports on Sustainable Semiconductor and Electronics Manufacturing and Next-Generation Feedstocks for Sustainable Chemicals, whilst also being responsible for research into advanced coating technologies.
