Speaker Biography (Paul Beecher)

Paul Beecher received his degree in Electrical Engineering at University College Cork (UCC) in 2001, and subsequently completed a Ph.D., largely devoted to probing the electrical interfacing of small assemblies of metal nanocrystals, at the Tyndall National Institute in 2004. From 2005 to 2008, he carried out postdoctoral work at the University of Cambridge on flexible and transparent electronics, namely composite organic based devices, incorporating nanoscale materials such as carbon nanotubes and silicon nanowires, and devices made from transparent ionic amorphous oxide semiconductors. Since August 2008, he has been a Member of Research Staff at Nokia Research Centre, Cambridge.
