Speaker Biography (Natasha Shirshova)I received my PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the Institute of Polymer Chemistry and Physics of Uzbek Academy of Sciences (Tashkent, Uzbekistan), studying synthesis and properties of acrylonitrile based terpolymers and their fibres. I joined Imperial College in 2004 with a Royal Society/NATO Fellowship with Prof. Julia Higgins and am now a Research Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering. My research includes synthesis, characterisation and application of functional materials, particularly synthetic polymers and polymer based composites, and covers a broad spectrum of synthetic methodologies, complex architectures and function.
