Active RFID for Critical Waste Disposal
Juin 22, 2005

Betchel Hanford has undertaken an Environmental Restoration project at sites along the Columbia River in Washington State. Identification of the waste and its disposal location is critical to a successful clean-up. An active RFID system from Axcess International was used on each truck to identify, weigh, and log the waste into a database automatically, without the time and effort of the truck driver. This improves both accuracy and efficiency of the operation.
The Axcess system active RFID tags have a typical range of 30 to 100 feet, which is ample for the application. Furthermore, the system is integrated to the facilities security systems to increase the security of the effort.
