Chris Furlan, PhD, is a Technology Analyst at IDTechEx focused on healthcare and biotech technologies. Chris has a background in physical chemistry, biochemistry, and structural biology research.
Prior to joining IDTechEx, Chris worked on hydrogenase enzymes focusing on their expression, purification, and structural characterization. Before that, Chris received their Master by Research degree in physical chemistry from the University of York where they characterized the photodissociation properties of porphyrins including those used in photodynamic therapy.
Chris has a unique insight into new technology and innovation acquired from engaging with the startup ecosystem and from their experience in technology transfer at the University of Manchester. At IDTechEx, Chris is working on Healthcare topics, including medical devices.
