Dr Shababa Selim, MSci PhD is a Senior Technology Analyst at IDTechEx working on topics centered in the advanced materials space. Shababa has previously worked for a science and technology consultancy where she leveraged her background in chemistry to engage in a wide range of product development and technology innovation ventures for SMEs and large multinational corporations.
Shababa completed her PhD in Chemistry from Imperial College London. Her research focused on the use of time-resolved spectroscopic techniques to study the charge carrier dynamics of metal oxide semiconductors for applications in solar energy conversion, with particular emphasis on water splitting for hydrogen production. Shababa has presented at numerous conferences and published her research in multiple high-impact journals, including Chemical Science, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Advanced Functional Materials, Nature Communications, and several others.
Prior to this, she obtained an MSci in Chemistry from Imperial College London, during which she also investigated folding characteristics and structures of DNA G-quadruplexes.
With IDTechEx, Shababa's research has focused on advanced materials and semiconductor related topics. Her portfolio of reports includes Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), Aerogels, Helium Market, and Hardware for High Performance Computing (HPC), Data Centers, and AI. Shababa is also interested in topics related to sustainability and emerging pollutants.
