IFC backs Ioxus for Series C funding

Ioxus, a manufacturer of premium performance ultracapacitor technology for use in transportation, industrial and energy applications, today announced the completion of its series C funding with receipt of $21 million from investors.

EU funded project to advance CIGS technology

Initially, the project will exploit the potential of non vacuum processes based in nanostructured materials as electrochemical synthesis of nanocrystalline precursors and printing of nanoparticle based inks, as well as novel chemical based deposition processes for the development of modules on large area substrates with improved uniformity and at lower production costs.

European Commission makes €24.2 million available for e-mobility

The European Commission will support a cross-European electromobility initiative, Green eMotion, worth €41.8 million ($59.2 million), in partnership with forty two partners from the industries, utilities, electric car manufacturers, municipalities, universities and technology and research institutions.

Regenerative braking to power trains

South West Trains is the UK's biggest commuter rail network, running nearly 1700 train services a day in the south-west of England out of London Waterloo and carrying around 190 million passengers a year. The company is investing £2.2 million in a major regenerative braking project to save energy and make its trains greener.
