Nick is Head of Research & Development at Hoare Lea & Partners. Over his 30 year career, starting as a design engineer, he has worked on a diverse range of projects across the globe. As part of his R&D role, Nick maintains links within the academic community and actively participates in research projects. Current research projects include a novel carbon capture system, DC power systems, energy harvesting system thinking and Building Information Management (BIM) systems.
He is the author of numerous papers delivered to both clients and conferences and has been responsible for a variety of industry guides and publications. He is a member of the UK Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC) and taken an active and on-going role in advising on energy, electrical and air quality regulations
