Innovative smart textiles and HAPTIC 3D coating technology

Integration of sensors and electronics into smart textile applications for sport industry is discussed. Electronic components could be integrated on fiber levels with special functional fibers. Another way are electronically active coatings and printings on top of various knitted or woven fabric. HAPTIC as an additive 3D coating technology seems ideal for integration of electronic components between the HAPTIC layers. Chemical safety and non-toxicity requirements of consumer goods are discussed in more detail.
