Guinness World Record for Fastest 100 Metres by a Bipedal Robot

Cassie the robot has established a Guinness World Record for the fastest 100 meters by a bipedal robot. Cassie clocked the historic time of 24.73 seconds starting from a standing position and returning to that position after the sprint, with no falls.

World's Largest 3D Printed Logistics Vessel

Researchers have achieved a groundbreaking milestone in composite manufacturing with the production of two 3D-printed prototype logistics vessels for the US Department of Defense. The longer of the two vessels, the largest ever 3D-printed, simulates ship-to-shore movement of 20-foot containers representing equipment and supplies. The second vessel can transport a Marine rifle-squad with organic equipment and three days of supplies.

The creator hopes his robots can someday be used to solve tricky engineering problems by emulating talented creatures like squid or mice that can seamlessly squeeze themselves like liquid into tight places. Patrol boat created in 72 hours by 3D printer

The new 3D printer is designed to print objects as long as 100 feet by 22 feet wide by 10 feet high, and can print at 500 pounds per hour. The one-of-a-kind printer will support several ambitious initiatives, including development of biobased feedstocks using cellulose derived from wood resources, and rapid prototyping of civilian, defense and infrastructure applications.
