Optinvent is a technology company in Rennes, France, developing the ORA-1 smartglasses, making the company one of the few companies in the highly active space for smart eyewear with a product offering that's currently available for sale, albeit to developers only at this stage.

They are a Finnish company that spun out from the University of Jyväskylä, Research Institute for Olympic Sports in 2002. They have been supporting consumer products since 2002, elite sports customers since 2007 and preventive healthcare customers since 2006.

AiQ Smart Clothing are a dependent subsidiary of Taiwanese textile company, Tex-Ray. AiQ started as an internal department in 2009, and emerged as a subsidiary in 2012.
