IDTechEx electric vehicle analyst team expanded
Oct 14, 2015
In 2016 61 million electric vehicles will be sold - from electric cars to planes to industrial vehicles, creating a total market of $123 Billion. That will rise to $182 billion in 2020, based on the latest survey of the industry conducted by IDTechEx Research in the report Electric vehicle Forecasts, Trends and Opportunities 2016-2026.
Chief Executive of IDTechEx Raghu Das says, "As manufacturers seek to widen their ranges of EVs into unfamiliar territories and everything changes disruptively in those vehicles, they and their component suppliers need professional help with forecasting, acquisitions, choosing best partners, benchmarking and more. Our EV team has previously consisted of a core of professionals assisted by internal and external experts working on a part-time basis on these reports, our unique Electric Vehicle Market Intelligence Portal and our many associated consultancy projects. However, now that the business is in full flight we have added two PhD level analysts full time on these projects. Dr Xiaoxi He, PhD Physics, is a Chinese national. She has researched for us recently in China twice, Germany and the USA. Her expertise includes photovoltaics, batteries, nanomaterials and RFID and she speaks Chinese and English. Dr Adesanya-Aworinde has a PhD in Chemical Engineering. New to IDTechEx she has deep expertise in biofuels and renewable energy and she starts by researching large batteries, most of which will be used in electric vehicles on land and in electrified boats and ships".
On November 18-19 the IDTechEx conference Electric Vehicles: Everything is Changing is another service to the burgeoning EV industry. It will be a key part of "IDTechEx Show!" in Santa Clara California and those attending also have many Masterclasses to choose from on November 17 and 20 as well as the 200 stand exhibition covering enabling technologies.
