Dr. Akira Sakaigawa is Chief Expert in Image Research Center at Huawei Technologies Japan K.K., where he leads the development of display technologies for consumer mobile products, such as Smartphone.

He received his Ph.D. degrees in Material Science from Saitama University Graduate School of Science & Engineering in 1994. He has extensive experience in the field of Liquid Crystal Display technology development at Sharp Corporation, Sony Corporation and Japan Display Inc.. One key area over several years has been to investigate the optical design and the image processing algorithm for high resolution mobile display using LTPS TFT technology.
