The 3DEXPERIENCE Platform provides a digital thread from design to simulation to production. Within this framework, engineers can perform detailed thermo mechanical analyses to predict complex physics, such as microstructure, as-built material properties, and buckling. A faster eigenstrain-based simulation method is also available to obtain distortions for part compensation iterations. These simulation tools were awarded first place in residual stress prediction by the recent NIST AM Benchmark, and have been validated for a range of process types and materials. Speaker Biography (Rachel Fu)Rachel Fu is a Senior Manager at Dassault Systèmes SIMULIA, focusing on solutions that help realize the potential of Additive Manufacturing technologies. She has been with SIMULIA for over 10 years, and spent 5 of those years as an on-site engineer at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Her simulation specializations include composites, fracture, FE automation, and additive manufacturing. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and a Master of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
