PlayNitride
PlayNitride is a microLED manufacturer founded in 2014 and headquartered in Taiwan. While it started as a company that evaluated the use of nitrides in a wide range of materials and applications, it now specializes in the use of GaN in microLEDs.
The company has been publicly listed at the Taiwan Stock Exchange since 2022 and occupies a position at the Taiwan Innovation Board.

Plessey Semiconductors
Plessey is a UK-based working on MicroLEDs based on GaN-on-silicon technology. Plessey operates 150 mm and 200 mm wafer processing facilities to undertake design, test and assembly of products. The company provides illuminators for display engines (Digital Micro-mirror Device DMD and LCOS) and full-field emissive microLED displays that combine very high density RGB pixel arrays with high-performance in-house developed CMOS backplanes to produce high brightness, low power and high frame rate image sources for head mounted displays (HMDs), Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) systems.

PlayNitride
The Taiwan-based company PlayNitride Inc. was founded in 2014. The company's initial know-how was mainly in LEDs but gradually expands its coverage. The company does not only covers PixeLED® Display Technology based on MicroLED, but also UVolution Solution by UV LED, and PlayBeacon Package by iBeacon. In the µLED display area, PlayNitride integrates µLED epitaxy, chip fabrication and mass transfer, which is advantageous compared to companies who only focuses on mass transfer technologies. When the company was founded, there was about 70 people in the team. The number has expanded to more than 100 in 2019.
