Epishine's Unique Production Process Brings Further Advancements to the Solar Energy Industry - Swedish Epishine has made advancements for printed outdoor organic photovoltaics within the Solar Era funded project NFA4R2ROPV thanks to their breakthrough manufacturing process of roll-to-roll printed solar cells.

Epishine is a Swedish company founded in 2016. The company works on organic PV for indoor wireless electronics. Epishine just announced it has received SEK 25 million (US$2.3 million) from the European Union's LIFE fund.

Epishine's business is based on their patented process for printing solar cells. Their first product is a thin, flexible organic solar cell that harvests indoor light to power electronics indoor. The market's response has been overwhelming and thus, to meet the international demand, Epishine will relocate to larger premises in Linköping,

Epishine is partnering with ASCA to strengthen and further develop the world-wide OPV market. ASCA recently acquired the most relevant intellectual property portfolio on printed OPV and the companies have signed a licensing agreement to share it beginning of April. The contract will enable the Swedish-based manufacturer Epishine to further improve its organic indoor light energy harvesting solar modules.

ELSYS is launching their first battery-free products using Epishine's indoor light energy harvesting solution. The environmentally friendly sensor line is launching two sensor types called ERS Eco and ERS Eco CO2. They are entirely powered by Epishine's indoor solar cells and are made from biodegradable materials.

Epishine announced that its organic photovoltaic cells have been incorporated within the commercially available Optiqo QlvrBox, a wireless device for tracking facilities management maintenance schedules. This illustrates the commercial potential for indoor OPV to power IoT devices.

Epishine and Optiqo have collaborated and this has now resulted in a brand-new version of Optiqo's QlvrBox powered with organic solar cells optimized to harvest indoor lighting that now is available for order worldwide.

Epishine's new-to-market printed organic solar cells and development kits remove the need for batteries reducing impact on the environment.

On April 8 2021 Ynvisible hosted a joint webinar with Evonik and Epishine, covering how printed batteries and organic photovoltaic cells can be combined with its low-cost, low-power electrochromic displays to produce multiple consumer-facing applications.

On February 2nd 2021, Epishine announced the launch of its first product and provided some further details regarding manufacturing methodology and features. They also provided details of some commercial partnerships.
