Ampaire is developing electric aircraft and is beginning with a powertrain that will be used to convert existing aircraft to electric propulsion. Our first product is an electric powertrain to replace common turboprop engines in 9 to 19 passenger airplanes. We are an engineering company, developer of IP, and integrator of technologies. We are benefitting from the commoditization of underlying technology in batteries and motors and are incorporating these technologies into our unique system architecture.
In order to achieve this, we've made key innovations linked to the integration of the motor and battery technology into the aircraft. This includes unique solutions for battery cooling and safety, as well as battery swapping. By focusing on our first product, we are strategically positioning ourselves for scalability as technology improves by aligning our roadmaps for applicability to larger aircraft.
Cory Combs is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Ampaire Inc. After receiving his bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Stanford University, Cory worked in advanced R&D at Northrop Grumman, including work on a number of X-planes. He later shifted to working in the clean tech startup space researching novel pollution reduction/energy efficiency technologies across multiple industries. Ampaire is the convergence of Cory's work on EV and aircraft technologies, and he is excited to be a part of making commercial electric aircraft a reality.
