California launched the commercial hydrogen fuel cell vehicle market three years ago with the first retail hydrogen and vehicle sales. A consensus vision for a self-sustaining market by 2030 was released mid-2018 by the California Fuel Cell Partnership, and private and public stakeholders are now working on the specific mechanisms and actions that will achieve that vision. This presentation will outline how successful implementation will enable 1,000,000 fuel cell electric vehicles and will also show how it supports the larger renewable and decarbonized energy transition already underway.
Chris has led communications, outreach and marketing for the California Fuel Cell Partnership since 2004. Her team created some of the most-used outreach materials for FCEVs and hydrogen stations, including an award-winning social media campaign and interactive applications for drivers. When she started at CaFCP, the cars were experiments and the world had one hydrogen station. Now Chris owns an FCEV and uses a network of retail stations.
Founded in 1999, the California Fuel Cell Partnership is an industry/government collaboration aimed at expanding the market for fuel cell electric vehicles powered by hydrogen to help create a cleaner, more energy-diverse future with no-compromises zero emission vehicles. Staff from member organizations participate on standing committees and project teams that help ensure that vehicles, stations, regulations and people are in step with each other as the technology comes to market. CaFCP's success is directly linked to the commitment and involvement of our member organizations.
