TraceTracker provides the software solutions for the Global Traceability Network (TT GTNet). Covering the entire value chain, the TT GTNet is an online exchange of links to independent companies' traceability information. TheTT GTNet transcends organizational and system barriers to connect companies in a truly global traceability network. It facilitates the complete documentation and tracing of food products from 'fork-to-farm', and enables companies in the food industry to cut costs, increase competitiveness, protect brands and enhance food safety.
Mission
In markets where food safety and consumer confidence are becoming ever more important, TraceTracker shall establish The Global Traceability Network - an online, decentralised exchange of traceability information between independent players along the entire value chains. TraceTracker's architecture for providing chain traceability has led to the development of two complementary, but architectually different systems, the «TraceTracker Enterprise Solution» (TTES) and the «Global Traceability Network» (GTN).
The TTES can be used as a standalone internal or enterprise wide traceability system. In addition, TTES is the first step to providing full and transparent chain traceability with trading partners downstream and upstream in the value chain. In this scope, TTES provides the data integration layer for the other system, the Global Traceability Network (GTN).
The GTN on the other hand, can be thought of as a traceability hub, routing requests and responses for traceability information between the systems connected to the hub.
GTN does not store other data than the information necessary to route such requests and responses.
It is up to the connected systems (each must use TTES as a data aggregator) to grant or deny access when receiving requests.
TraceTracker is participating in TRACE, the European Union traceability project, and in other major initiatives. See www.tracetracker.com
Food Traceability 2006 conference will be held on February 1-2 2006 in Dallas, USA. This hot topic is driven by health scares, bioterrorism and new laws. It will become the largest RFID application but we cover DNA and many other vital technologies as well. For further details please visit www.trackingfood.com
