FUTABA CORPORATION was established in 1948 and is market leader in vacuum fluorescent displays (VFD), radio control equipment and die set components. By 2011 Futaba acquired TDK Micro Device (TMD), which was developing and manufacturing OLED displays since 1997 and owned by TDK Corp. Through this alliance Futaba added OLED technology to its product line, offering similar features as VFD and adding additional benefits like thinness/lightness, low power consumption and small pixel size.
