Sensors for Heavy-Duty Autonomous Vehicles
Heavy-duty autonomous vehicles such as roboshuttles, buses, and trucks largely use the same three core sensors as most other autonomous vehicles, which are cameras, radar, and LiDAR. The unique properties and advantage of these three means that for most cases each is indispensable. However, IDTechEx's research has shown that the different vehicle classes mentioned above have different requirements. This premium article highlights those differences and presents data and findings from IDTechEx's research into the autonomous heavy-duty vehicle space. Key suppliers of LiDAR and computer chips are also identified as this industry matures and leaders emerge.
